As a day care guest at Ashbrook Court, you are welcomed as a full member of our community. That means a personalised care plan shaped around individual needs and preferences, and full access to our home and gardens. Every visit includes a nutritious, home-cooked lunch, along with unlimited snacks and drinks throughout the day, with all dietary requirements thoughtfully catered for.

Day care guests typically arrive at 10am and leave at 4pm. We recommend that hair appointments are booked in advance at our in-house salon.

Day care at Ashbrook Court is also totally flexible, and for many families, it becomes a gentle, natural way to get to know us. There is no better introduction to life here than experiencing it firsthand, and a day visit can be a reassuring first step for those who may be considering a short-term stay, or making Ashbrook Court their permanent home.

What Activities Can I Take Part In?

Day care guests can enjoy a range of activities and a companionable lunch, with every day thoughtfully shaped around the people spending it here. Our activities for older adults are designed for all interests and energy levels. Watch a favourite film in our cinema room, visit our charming traditional sweet shop, or relax with a little well-earned pampering in the salon. Step outside and explore our landscaped gardens, where peaceful seating areas and bird boxes make for a lovely place to sit, breathe, and simply be.

For those who love to make and do, there’s baking, gardening, and hands-on projects in our repair shop. And for quieter moments, our library is a lovely retreat to get lost in a good book or just enjoying a little peace and quiet.

At Ashbrook Court, activity and relaxation sit comfortably side by side and new friendships have a wonderful habit of forming over lunch, a shared film, or a tray of freshly baked biscuits.

At Ashbrook Court, we are proud to offer specialist day care for older adults with more complex needs, including those requiring nursing support or living with dementia.

Our experienced team of registered nurses and dedicated carers are on hand to provide personalised care, medication management, and attentive support for every aspect of a guest’s wellbeing.

For those living with dementia, every detail of the day is thoughtfully considered. Activities are tailored to support cognitive function, memory, and physical health, including sessions with our Tovertafel interactive light projection table, which encourages gentle movement, and meaningful engagement. Guests can also enjoy Namaste Care and sensory therapy sessions, designed to bring comfort, calm, and a sense of connection.

Our spaces are dementia-friendly throughout, with clear signposting and considered adaptations that help guests move through their day with confidence and ease. Dining areas are relaxed and supportive, with adjustments in place to encourage mealtime independence and enjoyment.

With a focus on personal attention, welcoming care and clinical expertise, day care at Ashbrook Court helps maintain quality of life for guests, and a reassuring break for family carers.
