Expert Nursing Care
We provide specialist nursing care for adults living with a wide range of conditions, including stroke, cancer, Parkinson’s disease, heart and lung conditions, multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy and bariatric care. Our experienced clinical team, led by our clinical deputy and clinical lead, also supports residents with more complex needs, including catheter care, bowel care and feeding tube management.

Many of our team members have been with us for years — and that continuity makes a real difference. Residents and families build genuine relationships with familiar faces who truly understand their individual needs and routines.
We monitor residents closely and act quickly if anything changes, working with community healthcare partners to avoid unnecessary hospital visits wherever possible. Our friendly local GP visits twice a week and knows residents well. Alongside our team, they can spot early changes and review care plans to get the best outcomes. We also have strong links with a wide range of healthcare professionals who support residents with specialist health needs.
For residents who have mobility needs, we use specialist equipment including profile beds, airflow mattresses, hoists and walking aids. This helps to keep residents as comfortable and independent as possible, whether up and about or nursed in bed.

Whether you need a short break while a regular carer rests, a chance to recharge, or emergency cover following a hospital stay, respite care at Ashbrook Court offers real peace of mind. Your loved one will receive the same high-quality clinical and nursing care as our permanent residents — nothing is different except the length of stay.
Respite residents are fully included in everything Ashbrook Court has to offer, from our activities programme and social life to our welcoming spaces and regular outings.
It’s also a lovely opportunity to get to know us. Many people find that a respite stay gives them the confidence and reassurance they need when considering a permanent move.
Residential care is provided by trained carers and suits those who want companionship and help with everyday tasks like meals, washing and taking medication.
Nursing care is delivered by registered nurses and is designed for people with more significant or complex health needs, supported by therapies that promote independence and dignity.
At Ashbrook Court, we offer both — alongside specialist dementia care. This means that as needs change over time, residents and their families can often continue to be supported at Ashbrook Court by a friendly team that already knows and cares for them.
Funding care can feel overwhelming — but you don’t have to figure it out alone.
Self-funding
If your loved one has savings or assets above a certain threshold, they may need to fund their own care. A financial adviser can help you understand what this means in practice.
NHS Funded Care
If nursing care is needed, the NHS may contribute. This is not means-tested and is paid directly to the care home.
