Questions About Our Care
We provide expert residential, nursing, dementia, convalescent and rehabilitation care for adults (18+) on a long-term or short-term (respite) basis. Our multidisciplinary team is led by an experienced home manager, Vicky Parsons. We will recommend the right type of care that best suits your loved one’s needs. And if someone’s care needs change, we’re often able to provide the continuing care they require.
It is 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Led by an experienced clinical home manager, our highly qualified team of nurses and carers work around the clock to ensure we are able to meet the needs of our residents at all times.
Our clinical management team has many years of combined experience. The nursing team is fully trained and experienced in caring for individuals with a wide range of medical conditions, including stroke recovery, Parkinson’s disease, bariatric care, muscular dystrophy, and multiple sclerosis.
We have excellent relationships with a network of local health professionals and have a retained GP who visits weekly to review care plans and medication. There will, however, be times when our residents need to see other health experts such as a dentist, chiropodist or hospital consultant which we’re able to support with organising
We use a dependency tool to ensure we always have the correct number of team members, with the right mix of skills and experience, to fully meet the needs of our residents at all times. We maintain a carer/nurse-to-resident ratio that exceeds government guidelines and is regularly reviewed.
In partnership with you and your loved one, we draw up a personal care plan to ensure that all their needs are met. This is regularly reviewed to reflect any changes.
We have a welcoming open-door policy, and you can visit as much as you are able to with no restrictions on visiting times. A member of our senior team is always available if you have any questions or concerns.
You can also read honest, independent reviews from our residents and their loved ones on carehome.co.uk here which is an independent reviews site for care homes.
As a care service provider, we are regulated and inspected by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and internally, we have a robust approach to quality assurance with regular unannounced inspections which mirror CQC’s inspections.
Supporting our home is our regional business manager who is also responsible for monitoring quality standards on a day-to-day basis, with regular visits, action plans and reports completed and submitted to senior management. Any comments or concerns raised are always dealt with promptly, and recorded as part of an ongoing commitment to continual improvement.
Questions About Moving In & Visiting
We take as much time as your loved one needs to help settle them into their new home. Each resident is assigned a key worker dedicated to integrating them into life at Ashbrook Court We will also introduce them to companionable residents with shared interests and hobbies.
Our top priority is to ensure everyone feels happy, safe and at home in our care. We are guided by a personalised care plan, detailing everything from care and dietary requirements to life history, pastimes, and dislikes. We also encourage you to bring your relatives’ most cherished possessions and mementoes to personalise their bedroom.
There are no visiting times – you can visit whenever you like, as often as you want. We encourage family and friends to become fully part of life in our home, and you are always welcome to take part in our regular activities and events, as well as our monthly relative meetings.

Questions About Our Facilities
Yes. These are in easy reach within bedrooms and around the home to let us know if residents need help or assistance.
Of course, but it is far more than that. Creating an elegant, homely and practical environment is a vital part of ensuring we’re able to provide exceptional care. Our home is designed to be safe and stimulating, promote independence and provide exceptional, compassionate care.
Our home features specialist equipment, from pressure relieving mattresses, profiling beds and electronic care planning to nurse call systems and sensory lighting, for way finding at night. Strength training and cardio equipment is available in the multipurpose gym.
Questions About Lifestyle Choices
In short, however they wish. Residents enjoy unlimited access to all communal areas including the bistro, cinema, library, salon and landscaped gardens. We encourage residents to continue the hobbies and interests they have, and will support this in any way we can. Residents also help shape our activity and events programme, ensuring there’s something for everyone. Together with thoughtful introductions to residents with shared hobbies and interests, friendships quickly develop.
Of course! We have a lot of fun doing so, and no milestone goes by uncelebrated without a beautiful homemade cake! In fact, we don’t always need a birthday or anniversary to celebrate, as we love to make an event out of the simplest occasion. These are fantastic ways of bringing happiness and laughter into our home. Residents, their families, our team members and the local community thoroughly enjoy the many events we host at our home throughout the year.
Yes, as we believe it is really important they are supported to remain active members of their local community. We organise regular minibus outings and open our doors to countless entertainers, therapy animals and talks by local groups. As well as visits from schoolchildren and faith leaders to spend time with our residents.
Questions About Dining Options
Our meals and snacks are freshly prepared on site by a team of fantastic chefs using locally sourced ingredients wherever possible. Our kitchen team carefully creates menus, in partnership with our residents, that are interesting and seasonal, catering to different preferences and dietary requirements. Our group support chefs host regular forums to share the latest industry products and news, and inspire our chefs with new skills and techniques. Together this ensures we deliver the very best dining experience.
Not at all. However, we do encourage residents to sit and eat together as it can be a great social experience. Of course there will be times when a resident would prefer to eat away from larger groups and that is absolutely fine. There are a variety of quieter spaces to do so or they can enjoy room service if they prefer. We also have a variety of snacks available around the clock, including our popular evening menu.
