The Queen’s Green Canopy

To mark the Platinum Jubilee, residents planted an Ash tree as a symbol of solidarity and immortality.

To commemorate The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, residents and team members gathered to plant our very own Ash tree for ‘Ashbrook Court!’

Resident Philip, who ‘broke the ground’, said, “It was a great honour to plant the tree for Her Majesty. I used to do a bit of gardening a long time ago and tended to my own shrubs and bushes.”

The Ash was chosen as a symbol of solidarity and immortality, known by many as the Warrior Tree.

Jonathane, our home manager here at Ashbrook Court Care Home in Waltham Abbey, shared, “Everyone really enjoyed being involved in the ceremony to commemorate the Jubilee. We are all looking forward to watching the sapling grow and grow – and it will a permanent reminder of our wonderful Queen as we mark this very special occasion.”
